Tips for Beginners
Beginning yoga may be challenging, especially taking that first step to arrive for your initial class. At yogahaven we appreciate this and therefore do all we can to help you have the best possible experience.
Like any new challenging activity, it can take time to feel and understand the benefits. The heat of a hot yoga class may take time for you to adjust to, or perhaps the faster pace of astanga leaves you feeling a little lost; but with some patience and a little dedication the science of yoga gradually unfolds.
Come prepared for class
It is advised that you arrive approximately 25 minutes early. It is also recommended that you refrain from eating 2-3 hours prior to class time and to drink lots of water.
For hot yoga, you will need to bring
- Drinking water. We sell water and reusable bottles.
- Two large towels. Towels are available for hire.
- Appropriate clothing – shorts or leggings with a suitable lightweight sports top.
- Change of clothes for after your class (shower facilities are available).
Please feel free to speak to the teacher after class if you have any questions or concerns. A good teacher and the right practise can significantly contribute to your enjoyment, growth, and understanding.
