So, what exactly is Reformer Pilates?
Think of Reformer Pilates as Pilates, but with a supercharged machine! Our reformer has a moving platform with springs and pulleys that add resistance, making it a full-body workout that’s both fun and seriously effective. It’s a top choice for getting toned, boosting flexibility, and strengthening your core. If you’re around Clapham pop in and give it a go!
Why choose Reformer Pilates over Mat Pilates?
Simple: the reformer machine! While Mat Pilates is great, the reformer takes your workout to the next level by adding adjustable resistance. It’s perfect for anyone from beginners to pros, helping you find those deep muscles you never knew existed. We’ve got tons of options here in Clapham for all levels, so whether you’re a total newbie or a Pilates buff, we’ve got a class for you.
Do I really need beginner classes if I’m new to this?
Yes, please! If you’re new to the reformer, we ask that you join our 3 Fundamentals classes before moving up to our Signature and Dynamic sessions. These beginner classes are perfect for mastering the basics so you’ll feel confident and ready for the more fast-paced classes. Plus, you’ll get to know the reformer inside out—and it’s actually pretty fun to learn!
What benefits can I expect from Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a game-changer! Here are just a few perks you can look forward to:
- Strengthened core and lean muscle tone
- Better flexibility and posture
- Improved joint stability
- Injury prevention and recovery support
- Total-body balance and coordination
How often should I be hitting a Reformer Pilates class?
For best results, we recommend 3-4 times per week. The more consistent you are, the sooner you’ll start seeing changes. With our morning, lunchtime, and evening options in Clapham, you can easily fit in classes that suit your lifestyle. And hey, it’s fun enough that you’ll want to come back!
What should I wear?
Comfort is key! Wear something you can move in, and grippy socks are a must to keep things safe and secure on the reformer. We’ve got some in the studio if you need them—just ask at the front desk!
Is Reformer Pilates beginner-friendly?
100%! Reformer Pilates is totally beginner-friendly, and our Fundamentals classes are here to help you get started. Once you’re comfortable with the basics after those 3 classes, you’ll be all set for our Signature and Dynamic Reformer Pilates sessions. We’ll guide you every step of the way!
Can Reformer Pilates help with injury recovery?
Yes! Reformer Pilates is often recommended for injury rehab because it’s low-impact and highly adaptable. The controlled movements and resistance-based exercises are perfect for recovery, especially if you’ve had issues with posture or muscle imbalances.
What are Signature and Dynamic classes?
Our Signature Reformer Pilates is a full-body workout designed to build strength and flexibility. If you’re after a bit more intensity, our Dynamic Reformer Pilates class offers high-energy, cardio-based exercises for a bigger challenge. These classes are great for when you’re ready to level up after the Fundamentals!
How do I book a class at your Clapham studio?
Booking a class is super easy! You can do it online through our website or the momence app. Spaces go fast, so we definitely recommend booking in advance, especially during peak times. Can’t wait to see you there!
Do you offer group and private Reformer Pilates sessions?
We sure do! Group classes are perfect for that community vibe, while private sessions give you 1:1 focus if you’re after something a bit more personalized. Our Clapham studio offers both, so you can choose the vibe that suits you best.
Where exactly are you in Clapham?
We’re right in the heart of Clapham, only 1 minute walk from Clapham Common Tube, 10 minutes on the bus from Clapham Junction Station, and super easy from Balham, and Battersea areas. Pop by and join us—you’ll be part of a welcoming, fun community where everyone can work out at their own pace.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Life happens, we get it! But we do have a strict 12-hour cancellation policy. Please cancel at least 12 hours before class to avoid losing a credit. And if you’re not able to make it, please still take a second to cancel—each spot is precious, and we’d love to give someone else the chance to jump in! Spaces are limited, and everyone deserves a shot at a great workout.
What if the class I want is fully booked?
If your dream class is booked, don’t stress—just join the waitlist! You’ll need an active class package to do this. If a spot opens up, you’ll automatically be added to the class and get an email letting you know.
And heads-up: if you’re added to a class last minute (12+ hours in advance), the same 12-hour cancellation policy still applies. So if you’ve changed your mind, just remove yourself from the waitlist in time to avoid any fee
