yogahaven is committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of anyone using our site and the confidentiality of any information that you provide us with. The purpose of this statement is to set out how we use any personal information that we may obtain from you.
Data Protection Act 1998 (‘the Act’)
We are registered under the Data Protection Act and comply with the Act in all our dealings with your personal data.
Use and collection of personal information
In general you can visit our website without telling us who you are and without revealing any information about yourself. If, however, you use our site you will need to register and you will be asked to provide certain information such as your contact details. We will store this data and hold it on computer or otherwise.
We may use information that you provide:
* To register you with our website and to administer it.
* For assessment and analysis, e.g. marketing, customer and product analysis, to enable us to review, develop and improve our services.
If you do not want us to use data in this way please email your local yogahaven studio email address. This can be found in the Email Us section at the bottom of the Studios page on our website.
We may disclose your personal information to third parties:
* In the event we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we might disclose your personal data to the prospective buyer or seller.
* If we are under a legal duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with or meet any legal obligation.
Cookies
We collect information directly from you in a number of ways. One way is through our use of ‘cookies’. Most websites use cookies in order to make them work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the website. They help us to understand how our customers and potential customers use our website so we can develop and improve the design, layout, content and function of the site. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer’s hard drive by websites that you visit. They save and retrieve pieces of information about your visit to the website – for example, how you entered the site, how you navigated through the site and what information and documentation was of interest to you. This means that when you go back to a website, it can give you tailored options based on the information it has stored about you on your last visit.
Terms and Conditions
When signing a Registration Form to use the services provided by any of the yogahaven companies (hereinafter yogahaven) you agree with the below Terms and Conditions.
1. Written Communication
1.1. You accept that communication may be in an electronic form including, but not limited to e-mails or information posted on our website. For contractual purposes, you agree and accept that any electronic communications comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
1.2. yogahaven can provide notice to you by the e-mail address that you most recently provided to yogahaven or by post to the most recent postal address provided. Pass holders are required to keep their contact details up to date within their account or give written notice to yogahaven of any change of address or email.
1.3. It is your responsibility to ensure that any notice served by e-mail has been sent to the correct email address of the addressee. The correct email address can be obtained from the reception at yogahaven or the yogahaven website and may change from time to time. It is your responsibility to ensure that any notice served by post is sent to the correct studio address and has been placed in the post. The correct studio address can be found on the yogahaven website.
1.4. By registering to our site you agree to receive our news and promotions via email / text.
2. Liability
As a result to my enrolment to become a student of classes offered by any of the yogahaven companies (hereinafter yogahaven) I accept that it is my responsibility to adhere to the following:
2.1. Seek medical advice, prior to undertaking any activity offered at yogahaven, and to be found in good health and fully able to all exercises and classes which I am to practise at yogahaven. I must always update teachers on any new medical issues. If I have any medical condition I understand that I am NOT authorised to take any class without my doctors medical prior approval.
2.2. Faithfully follow all instructions given to me by authorized instructors as to when and how to perform and not perform yoga, body movement exercises and wellbeing activities. I understand the practise, in a heated or non-heated room, of Yoga, group exercise (with and without props) and wellbeing activities may expose to risk of personal injury, disease, or death and I knowingly and willingly assume such a risk.
2.3. I understand and agree that I will receive instruction in Yoga, body movement theory and exercises and wellbeing activities only. I acknowledge that any suggestions regarding yoga, exercise, and wellbeing are neither diagnostic nor prescriptive and that I hold not liable yogahaven, its employers, officers, directors, shareholders, and contract trainers for any damage to or theft or personal property on or away from yogahaven premises, or personal injury, including but not limited to bodily injury, disease, disability, death, humiliation, or consequential loss of any kind arising out of my participation in any yogahaven’s activity or event.
2.4. In the event that I am pregnant, I will not attend any class until I have discussed the potential risk to my unborn child / fetus with my doctor. I agree that I will follow my doctors’ recommendations on behalf of myself, my heirs, spouse or other interested party hold harmless yogahaven for any possible injury to my unborn child / fetus.
2.5. If I am under 18 years of age, I warrant that I have disclosed my age to yogahaven. For regular classes, I must be at least 16 to participate and have a parent or guardian present on the premises during the class.
2.6. I understand that yogahaven may, from time to time, record and stream live through transmittable media the classes which I attend for the purposes of making such classes available to viewers online. I acknowledge that yogahaven will use reasonable efforts to ensure that my image is not identifiable on such media, however, to the extent that my image is identifiable to viewers of this media, I hereby give my consent to the use of my image for the purposes of making the classes available to online viewers.
2.7. I understand my data will be saved by yogahaven and used for marketing purposes but not shared to third parties.
2.8. I have read and fully understand the yogahaven Terms and Conditions including the requirement to pay fees for late cancellations.
3. Class Times
3.1. Current class times are as advertised in the studio and on our website. We reserve the right to alter class times on reasonable notice.
4. Refunds and Exchanges
4.1. I understand that registration fees and payments for classes (drop in class, class packages, memberships) are non-refundable and passes cannot be exchanged, including where classes are offered through alternative means, such as live streaming.
5. Cancellation Policy
5.1. Class bookings must be cancelled online by the student at least 6 hours before the start of the class. Should the Pass Holder cancel within this 6 hours timeframe, this will be classified as a “late-cancellation.” If you do not cancel at all and do not attend, this will be classified as a “no-show.”
5.2. If you are on an unlimited package, you will be charged £10 for a late cancellation and £10 for a no-show.
5.3. If you are booked using a drop-in or part of a limited pack of classes, your class will be deducted for a late cancellation or no-show.
5.4. Students must sign into class at least 5 minutes prior to the class start time or they may not be granted entry and this will be classified as a late-cancellation.
5.1.5. It is not necessary to book online prior to attending a class and yogahaven will always try to accommodate students. However, class spaces are handed out on a first come first serve basis. If there is no space in the class, students will not be able to attend the class at that time.
6. Memberships
6.1. The current membership fees are as advertised by us. We reserve the right to increase the annual membership fee by giving you at least 2 months’ notice prior to renewal.
6.2. You agree to pay membership fees by granting us permission to automatically charge you debit/credit card and to keep your card details up to date within your account.
6.3. The minimum period of membership is 3 months unless stated otherwise.
6.4. After 3 months, the membership will run on a month by month basis and we will claim the monthly fee by automatically charging your card unless you cancel your membership by giving us at least 1 month notice in writing before the renewal date.
6.5. Unless we fail to provide the majority of advertised classes in any one year, we will not refund membership fees in any circumstances.
6.6. We may terminate your membership if you fail to pay any membership fee.
6.7. We reserve the right to refuse membership to anyone at our discretion. We may ask anyone who in our opinion disrupts or may disrupt any class without good reason to leave, and we may terminate that person’s membership with immediate effect.
7. Workshops and Retreats
7.1. Workshop and retreat bookings are non-refundable. If a workshop or retreat is cancelled, a full refund for any monies is paid or the option to transfer onto another retreat or workshop will be offered to the individual.
TEACHER TRAINING
yogahaven Teacher training Terms and Conditions.
By applying for the yogahaven teacher training course you are agreeing to comply with the company terms and conditions.
CERTIFICATION
Our yoga teacher certification is designed to fulfill the requirements necessary to become a 200-hour yoga teacher.
We do support Yoga Alliance Professionals (although please be aware they are a private company and are not a governing body as yoga is not a regulated industry). To graduate, a student must complete all of the course
curricula that the training assigns, unless otherwise agreed in advance of the signing up for the course. The course curriculum will require students to participate in the following: class participation, final exams, hands-on assists, written and practical assignments, homework, attendance, and timely completion of all assignments. Students are required to make up all class hours missed, both excused and unexcused, by making arrangements with the Facilitators.
STUDENT CONDUCT
Students will be expected to behave in a professional manner at all times. Standards of conduct policies include, but are not limited to:
No sexual harassment of any type or form will be allowed.
No substance use or abuse during the yogahaven training hours will be accepted
No smoking allowed on yogahaven premises or during online training hours
No breach of confidentiality will be tolerated
Please be mindful of personal hygiene during the programme
Harassment of yogahaven team and peers will not be tolerated
Failure to comply with the standards of conduct policies will be handled by the Facilitator.
Failure to comply will lead to conduct warning or dismissal
ATTENDANCE
All modules must be completed unless written permission is given in advance of the course. Any missed hours will have to be made up before the end of the course. All classes will start on time and students are expected to be present and ready to participate at the appointed starting time. Students will not be allowed to join the session if they arrive late. Students that need to make up hours will be expected to pay a fee to join another course or to cover extra facilitation hours. If a student misses more than Two weekends, they will
need to join another course to complete their 200hr certification. Students are expected to notify yogahaven if they intend to withdraw from the programme. Any student who fails to attend a weekend intensive without communication will be initially contacted and assumed withdrawn if this is unsuccessful.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Due to medical disability or exceptional circumstances, a leave of absence will be granted. In this event, the student will have the opportunity to join the next available training. Where applicable students may need to pay the difference for this training. Each circumstance is reviewed individually.
CANCELLATION
Cancellation of classes or sessions due to unforeseen circumstances may occur. Additional dates will be added near the end of the programme if a cancellation is necessary. In light of the Coronavirus outbreak, yogahaven reserves the right, at its discretion, to change or modify the course schedule. We
commit to offering alternative courses, if for any reason the course you have paid for cannot run.
REFUNDS
The application fee of £500 is non-refundable except in the. case of a declined application
Due to the restrictions on numbers for in-studio training, this programme is non-refundable except in the event of unexpected medical circumstances (minus application fee/ deposit) No refunds will be made after the programme start date
STUDENT FEEDBACK AND COMPLAINTS
We welcome feedback as we know that any feedback helps to improve not only us as individual facilitators but as a team and training programme. Complaints may be presented to the facilitators, at which time they will do their best to come to a solution that supports both sides.
